About Shylee Simon

FDNP, Somatic Therapist, & Herbalist

Shylee Simon is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, certified Plant Medicine Practitioner from Cornell University, and Somatic Therapist from the Institute of Integrative Psychology. She has a passion for natural remedies and using holistic therapies and medicines to heal the body. As a nature enthusiast and lover, she feels it is important to remember that the earth has all we need to heal; If we can become sick, we can heal too.

Shylee’s journey started with her own health. Growing up she experienced extreme digestive issues and was experiencing chronic pain and discomfort. After seeing multiple doctors and trying all the diets and supplements out there, she discovered functional testing where symptoms are not ignored nor used as answers, but rather clinically correlated to the lab results and what is happening in the body. This changed her life and inspired her to help others feel good in their bodies once again and “love yourself back to health!”

Shylee started her own practice called Ahava Ceremonies back in 2022 where she led ceremonial gatherings to build community and work through emotional struggles and trauma in a safe group held space. In her ceremonies she integrates sound healing, somatic exercises, and guided meditations to calm the mind, body, and spirit. Shylee now offers 1:1 sessions to help combat everyday anxiety and depression, stress, trauma & PTSD. Now that she is a certified FDNP, her goal is to combine emotional healing with physical healing, as she believes the body and mind are connected and you cannot heal one without the other. Her practice is aimed for anyone and everyone ready to feel strong, resilient, and healthy! She believes we all have the capability to heal if you are willing to love yourself enough to do so.♡

Advancing Holistic Health Solutions

Modern technology. Ancient Remedies.

Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN) takes a different approach than conventional medicine by using functional lab testing to identify underlying stressors and imbalances that may be contributing to symptoms, often before disease is diagnosed. Rather than focusing solely on diagnosing and treating a specific condition, FDN practitioners assess areas such as hormone balance, digestion, immune function, detoxification, and metabolic health to gain a more complete picture of a client's wellness. Using this information, personalized holistic protocols are created that target nutrition, lifestyle modifications, stress management, sleep support, and supplementation designed to support the body's natural healing processes. This individualized, whole-person approach can help improve energy, resilience, and overall health while addressing root causes rather than simply managing symptoms.

Foundational Labs

The purpose of these labs is to “Test Not Guess”

Symptoms can be great clues, but they do not provide the whole picture or help us address the upstream issue. These 5 foundational labs give us great insight into the functioning or dysfunctioning of the body and it’s condition. To learn more about each test, you can read more below.

About The GI map

The GI Map is a comprehensive at-home stool test. This test uses DNA technology to evaluate the health of the gastrointestinal tract. It identifies and measures levels of beneficial bacteria, opportunistic organisms, parasites, viruses, fungi, and pathogenic bacteria such as H. pylori. The test also assesses key markers of digestion, inflammation, immune function, intestinal permeability, and overall gut health. By uncovering hidden imbalances that may contribute to symptoms such as bloating, digestive discomfort, fatigue, skin issues, autoimmune conditions, and nutrient deficiencies, the GI-MAP helps practitioners create personalized protocols that support healing and optimal wellness.

The hormone panel provides a comprehensive look at key sex hormones—including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA—as well as cortisol patterns throughout the day. These hormones play a vital role in energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, fertility, libido, stress resilience, and overall well-being. By identifying imbalances and dysfunctions that may not be detected through standard testing, the panel helps uncover underlying contributors to symptoms and allows for personalized nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations. This makes it a valuable tool for clients seeking to optimize their health, address chronic symptoms, and improve long-term wellness.

About The Stress & Hormone Profile

About The Mucosal Barrier Assessment

The Mucosal Barrier Assessment is a specialized test that evaluates the health and integrity of the gut lining by measuring markers such as zonulin, histamine, and diamine oxidase (DAO). These markers provide insight into intestinal permeability ("leaky gut"), histamine burden, and the body's ability to break down histamine effectively. When the gut barrier becomes compromised, unwanted substances can enter the bloodstream and trigger inflammation, immune reactions, and a wide range of symptoms including digestive issues, headaches, skin concerns, fatigue, and food sensitivities. Identifying these imbalances can help guide targeted nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support gut healing, reduce inflammation, and improve overall wellness.

The Metabolic Wellness Profile is a comprehensive blood chemistry assessment that provides insight into key areas of health, including liver and kidney function, inflammation, immune status, nutrient balance, and metabolic function. By analyzing biomarkers together rather than individually, this test can help identify underlying imbalances and early signs of dysfunction before they develop into more serious health concerns. The results offer valuable information to reduce stress load on the body and create strategies to support optimal health and vitality.

About The Metabolic Wellness Profile

About the MRT Food Sensitivity Panel

The MRT (Mediator Release Test) is a food sensitivity test that measures inflammatory reactions to foods and food chemicals by assessing the release of immune mediators in the body. Unlike immediate food allergies, food sensitivities can cause delayed symptoms such as digestive issues, headaches, fatigue, joint pain, skin problems, and brain fog. When left unaddressed, these sensitivities can create ongoing inflammation and act as a chronic stressor on the body, potentially contributing to gut dysfunction, immune dysregulation, and other health concerns. Identifying and removing reactive foods can help reduce inflammation, support healing, and improve overall health and quality of life.
